Solving problems.  Innovative action.

Beginning:

  • "Follow-up" session consolidating the acquired knowledge and skills

- sharing experiences related to the application of newly learnt tools
- the analysis of Success Cards and checking the effects of work carried out between sessions

  • What is creativity for me and how do I approach problems?

  • Ice breakers - games for building up the atmosphere and creative involvement


1. Proactivity - introduction to the issue of solving problems

  • Characteristics of proactive behaviours

- shaping the enterprising attitude necessary for a leader
- KAIZEN philosophy - a stimulus to self-development and a technique of continuous improvement

  • The specificity of innovative thinking

- the techniques of stimulating one's own creativity
- learning style and creativity [mind maps as the method used to acquire knowledge]

  • Habits limiting the creation of new solutions [in a person and organization]


2. Thinking styles and their influence on the effectiveness of actions

  • 4 types of thinking skills

- strategic
- strengthening
- creative
- analytical

  • Positive attitude - the element of potential [objective, optimism, realism]

  • Negative attitude as the obstacle to development [indecisiveness, negative thinking, hurry]


3. Creativity and innovation in the team - counteracting professional routine

  • Exploiting external sources of ideas  [discovery of areas such as 'the surrounding, others']

  • Overcoming barriers and restrictions on the way to increase efficiency

- the analysis of virtues and weaknesses as well as chances and risks
- fighting routine and habits
- support and the generation of involvement
- principles of creative work: rational irrationality, relevance, diversity

  • "Out-of-the-box" thinking and taking up professional challenges by the team


4. Solving problems and making decisions by the team

- opening for the problem and changing the way of thinking and selection of the problem to solve

- selection of the best solution
- implementation of the selected solution
- assessment of the implemented solution

5. Creativity in acting - simulation game

  • The process of solving problems based on the "technique of 6 hats"

- case study in terms of the issues discussed during the session
- the effects of Participants' work and trainer's feedback

Conclusion of the Leader’s Skills Academy:

  • Participants' conclusions and observations - summary of the series of workshop sessions

  • The analysis of Success Cards and Further Study Cards - worked out between the sessions

- "5 important words", in other words, a short course of management
- to be continued, in other words, benefits from further self-development
- individual consultations
- selecting auxiliary literature
