Communication in organization. Accurate statements and results control.

Beginning:

  • "Follow-up" session consolidating the acquired knowledge and skills

- sharing experiences related to the application of newly learnt tools
- analysis of the Success Cards, in other words, what I can already do and what poses difficulty for me

  • What is communication for me?

  • Ice breakers - games for building up the atmosphere and creative involvement


1. The role of communication in the Company

  • Effective communication as a warrantor of the team / organization cohesion

  • "Communication has many names", in other words, forms of communication

- verbal communication [techniques of active listening, asking questions]
- body language [miming; gestures; body position; voice]
- written word - principles used in the organization
- preferred communication style - self-assessment and recognition of the speaker's style

  • Breakdowns in communication and methods of their elimination [perception mistakes, stereotypes]


2. Communication and spreading information in the organization

  • Efficient communication and optimal flow of information

- vertical and horizontal flow of information
- methods of communication in the team [rules of group communication]

  • Flexibility in speaking and acting - time requirement and the power of team

- words, gestures, feelings, in other words taking over opinions, assessments and  other people's emotions
- the analysis of barriers and looking for an agreement - using assertive communication

3. Practical usage of communication tools

  • Active listening and open listening as the ways to obtain information

- clarification, paraphrasing, summing up - a dialogue based on appropriate    principles
- conscious listening - integration of recipient's words and emotions
- complete opening for an interlocutor, without any prejudice

  • Simple ways which not always lead to the objective

- how to talk to an employee?
- "warm-up", in other words, easy questions
- meaningful conversation - the art of asking questions

4. Persuasive communication and its significance for effective cooperation

  • "Language of persuasion", in other words, using the tools of social influence

- sensory channels and key words
- effective argumentation - adapting the style to the personal features of interlocutor

  • Persuasive influence on a group

- the principles of social influence [e.g.: the principle of mutuality, consequence, authority]
- directing an interlocutor's reasoning - "technique of anchoring"
- defence against manipulation tactics [among others "The Broken Record"; "Jujitsu Technique"]

5. Conducting team meetings and assemblies

  • Necessary elements of a meeting [time and people]

  • Successful meetings

- principles of conducting and participating
- copying with the difference of opinions [problem meetings]

Conclusion of session no. 5:

- "brainstorming" - how will I use the techniques I have learnt in the professional environment?
- Further Study Cards - establishing further steps in the process of improvement
