Motivating. Tools for enhancing subordinates' involvement.

Beginning:

  • "Follow-up" session consolidating the acquired knowledge and skills

- sharing experiences related to the application of newly learnt tools
- analysis of the Success Cards worked out between sessions

  • What do I know about motivation?

  • Ice breakers - games for building up the atmosphere and creative involvement


1. "How to make people want to "want to" - from the motivation theory to practice"

  • The characteristics of motivational needs

- the hierarchy of needs [Maslov's pyramid]
- types of human needs and the motivation to work

  • The factors increasing work efficiency and employee satisfaction

- motivators - hygiene and development factors [Herzberg's concept]
- what motivates and what demotivates the leaders and what motivates and demotivates the subordinates?

2. The conditions of the effectiveness of motivational influences - the adjustment of tools

  • Motivational significance of rewards and punishments

- rewards, bonuses, pay rises - is the costly measure effective as well?
- "the end justifies the means" - is basing on imperatives effective?
- inspiring subordinates - can everybody be motivated to act?
- "kind word" - hasn't praise become obsolete yet?

  • The role of information in the processes of motivation

- clear statement of the Company's /leader's expectations
- checking the understanding of orders and accepting the fears employees might have
- opening to help the subordinates and conveying the data related to the results of work

3. A highly motivated team - a dream or the requirement of times?
